Kohima Dist Disaster Management Authority meeting conducted

Kohima, May 18 (MExN): Kohima District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting was held at DPDB Hall, Kohima on May 17. 

Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DDMA, Gregory Thejawelie updated on the interaction and deliberation with all the members of line departments on various issues regarding the filling up of potholes in many locations, clearance for clogged drainages, and preparedness for major monsoon natural calamities and requested the concerned department to look after and do the needful as discussed. 

The members have been requested to go through the Kohima District Management Action Plan 2019 and come forward for any updation on or before June 30, 2022, a DIPR report stated. GJ Lorin, Senior Technical Director, DIO NIC Kohima informed that out of 25 line departments, only six line departments have updated the records on equipment, machinery, and human resources information such as doctors, nurses, and critical resources like medicine and oxygen which are supposed to be updated every three months. He requested all the line departments to visit the website, http://idrm.nidm.gov.in, and keep updating the portal.

CMO, NHAK informed that COVID cases were null till March 15 to May 7 and reported that LFS and G Rio School have been fully vaccinated. She also said 103 COVID deaths were reported from NHAK, 28 deaths from private hospitals and around 80 COVID deaths received compensation from DDMA.

DDMA, District Project Associate, Victor while highlighting the District Disaster Management Plan mentioned that the plan was prepared with facts and figures that have been collected from various government departments and the concerned authorities with a view to meet the challenges during any type of disaster.

It was added that the aim of the plan was to make Kohima district disaster-resilient with efficient mechanisms of preparedness, response, and recovery in place.
