The Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) today announced Men’s basketball team for Kohima district for the forthcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022.

The team will include; Salew Kadete, Kelhoukhrielie Dzüvichü, Seyievizo Kire, Thejangulie Mekro, Kevipfhelie Kevin Rutsa, Sharman Lama, Ruopfühetuo Solo, Chumbemo Kikon, Dziesekhrielie Belho, Keneizelhou Kevin Tale, Kevi Christopher Paphino and Keneitseizo Belho.

KDBA informed that women’s basketball team for Kohima district will be announced on August 8.

KDBA president Vimhalie Pienyü informed that 40 men and 20 women registered for the selection/trials, which was conducted on August 6 last.

Out of 60, 12 men and 12 women have been shortlisted to represent the KDBA at the upcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022.

Pienyü informed that the KDBA is planning to organize Inter-club basketball championship for Kohima district soon.

Only registered clubs under KDBA can participate.

Club registration is underway and interested clubs can contact the KDBA officials for further information.

Meanwhile, KDBA extended its sincere gratitude to all the registered players for their positive participation with utmost discipline during the selection trial process, conducted by KDBA.

KDBA also thanked all the selection board members led by Medozhatuo Rutsa, for giving their best efforts during the selection process in screening out the best team set for both men/women to represent Kohima District.

It also acknowledged principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima for allowing the basketball court for selection/trials and for further coaching purposes.
