Kohima District Disaster Management Authority meet

Kohima, June 16 (DIPR): The Kohima District Disaster Management Authority quarterly meeting was held at DPDB’s Conference Hall on June 15. The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DDMA Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor, IAS chaired the meeting.  

ADC Hq & Chief Executive Officer DDMA, Lithrongla Tongpi informed that the DDMA cell, opened at DC’s Office Kohima, has been fully functional. She reminded the stakeholder departments to submit the IDRN Data in order to be updated with correct information in case if any disaster strikes.  

The meeting discussed on the proposal for creation of Ward Disaster Management Committee as first respondent, the members shared their views and suggestions on the requirement of formation of the Committee in the Town/Urban areas since post-disaster in the crowded populace area occurs more in urban area. In this regard, the house decided to propose for formation of Committee after preparing the structure and meeting with the Ward and Colonies.

On submission of India Disaster Resources Network list, the house decided to update the IDRN Data every quarterly by every members of the DDMA. In regard to communication system proposal for better co-ordination, District Disaster Managament Officer, Thejangulie Zao informed that a proposal has been submitted to the NSDMA for necessary action. On the agenda of request for proper verification of SDRF, Thejangulie informed that the old format was phased out and a new format has been submitted for approval which mostly deals with field damage and houses burnt or damage by landslide. He said that once the new format is approved, the DDMA would hold meeting with all the line Departments.  

The house decided to approve the proposal for procurement of Bamboo and tarpaulin by observing the requirements of such materials to keep in stock for emergency and preventive measures.
