Kohima, November 25 (MExN): The 18th general session of the Kohima District Pharmacists' Union (KDPU) was held at the conference Hall of the District Industries Centre, Upper Chandmari Kohima on November 25.
Khele Thorie, Deputy Director (Pharmacy), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, exhorted the gathering with ethics of the pharmacy profession and laid emphasis on maintaining unity among the professionals and discharging duty with professionalism.
He apprised the gathering about the new developments coming up in the department concerning the pharmacy profession such as appointment of Pharmacy Inspectors under Nagaland State Pharmacy Council to effectively implement various sections of Pharmacy Act 1948 and Pharmacy Practice Regulations (PPR) 2015 including management of Supply Chain by the Professionals.
Santu Thapa, Advisor, KDPU and District Pharmacy Officer Kohima (Rtd) spoke on behalf of the retired members who thanked the Union for felicitating the retired members. Thapa also urged the union to work dedicatedly to provide better Pharmacy services to the people of the state.
Visopi Angami, Convener Nomination committee, declared the names of the office bearer for the tenure 2020 to 2023 which will be led by Kiyekhu Chophy and Zayiechituo John Kipu as President and General Secretary respectively.
Earlier, the session chaired by Novivonuo Sakhrie, President, KDPU began with invocation led by Abenle. The session adopted resolutions of professional interest and the session concluded with mass prayer.
