District Task Force meeting for NVBDCP on malaria elimination in convergence with allied department was held at DC conference hall, Kohima on April 30.
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The District Task Force meeting for National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) on malaria elimination in convergence with allied Department of Agriculture, Education, Fisheries and Social Welfare was held at DC conference hall, Kohima on April 30.
The programme chaired by Dr Imchastoshi, Dy CMO, stated a press release. An overview of malaria elimination presentation was given by Dr Kevihulie Meyase, DVBO. Informing the house present, Dr Meyase briefed on overall performance of malaria status in the district. He highlighted the important vision of the programme, citing that eliminate malaria and contribute to improved health, quality of life.
Under the programme, the goals is to attain zero indigenous cases in the District by 2022 and 2030 through-out the country, maintaining malaria-free status in areas where malaria transmission has been interrupted and to prevent re-introduction of malaria.
He also informed the allied department present in the meeting about convergence department responsibility in coordination to carry out surveillance, advocacy and generating awareness for the welfare of community. Through this advocacy coordination and partnership intervention, it can bring out maximal achievement of free malaria.
In his closing remarks, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, Deputy Commissioner mentioned that administration is to come in for action so that implementation of activity can run smooth. He suggested that wards chairman, NGOs should also be included in the next meeting as to generate awareness amongst public and to have better sensitization programme at community level.
