Kohima DPDB approves LADP for 2016-2017

Kohima, August 8 (DIPR): The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2016-2017. Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Rovilatuo Mor had highlighted the proposed works under LADP 2016-2017 in respect of all the seven Assembly Constituencies under Kohima during the monthly DPDB meeting held on August 8 at DPDB’s conference hall here. The house discussed on the proposed works and decided to approve the LADP 2016-2017.  

Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the DC informed that the timing of DPDB meeting has been changed to 10:00 am from 12:30 pm for every meeting, while the date’s pattern remains the same. On the issue of District Vision and Village Adoption, he informed that the compilation has been started and will be submitted to the Government in due course of time. Rovilatuo also informed the developmental departments to submit their departmental profiles in order to incorporate in the publication of LADP Booklet.  

While presenting the LADP in respect of 9th Kohima Town A/C during 2016-2017, the elected member concerned, Dr. Nicky Kire stated that the issue of colony beautification was proposed to see all colonies painted with one common colour and make a little change in beautifying the Kohima city. The DC also informed the members that he had raised the same common issue to the concerned department officials for quality painting of roadside walls and that the District Administration has contributed a sum of Rs.60,000/- for the painting.  

The elected members of the constituencies present in the meeting - Minister for Social Welfare, Kiyanilie Peseyie; Minister for Forest, Dr. Nicky Kire; Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Er. Levi; MLA Vikho-o Yhoshu; and MLA Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu - shared their concerns for review of the common pool proposal. In this, they decided to have a sitting with the DPDB chairman, Khriehu Liezetsu, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources and Sports and Lotteries to bring out new Common Pool proposal, which was also approved by the house.  

ADC Planning & Member Secretary DPDB, Ketoho Luho requested the elected members of the Assembly Constituencies for their suggestions on which village/ward to be taken up in the next year’s Village Adoption programme.  

The Social Welfare Department and the Adoption Committees were entrusted to give their presentation in the next DPDB meeting on September 15 at 10:00 am in the DPDB’s conference hall, Kohima.
