Kohima DPDB discuss adoption of wards

Kohima, January 15 (DIPR): The first Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the year 2016 was held at DPDB’s Conference hall on January 15. The Meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Kohima Ruovilatuo Mor, IAS.   At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner extended his New Year greeting to the members present and reviewed the last meeting minutes. On the agenda of adoption of Village/Wards, the DC informed that certain modalities have been worked out since it would be a competition among the Adoption Committees and further highlighted the stages for implementation of Village Adoption and criteria of judgments of the best two Adoption Teams. He also extended his appreciation to the former Adoption Committee Teams for rendering their best services in taking up various innovative activities in their respective adoption villages and wards last year. He was also happy to inform that this Model practice introduction by the Kohima DPDB had encouraged other districts to take up such activities in their Districts. He further solicited the adoption committee members for cooperation and active participation in their initiatives with a spirit of development in their activities this year also.  

ADC Planning, Ketoho Luho also informed the members that the stages for implementation of the Village Adoption have been worked-out in order to maintain the target and time frame given by the Board. He requested the Committees to stick to the given time frame and hoped to have more activities this year with the enhanced money announced by the DPDB Chairman & Parliamentary Secretary for YRS & MTF, Khriehu Liezietsu. He also informed that this year’s Village Adoption Committees Conveners would be the Administrators and hoped the members would cooperate with their Conveners. He further informed that the six selected villages would be invited for sensitization which would make easier for the Adoption Committees when they visit the villages. The ADC also appraised the members that twelve rounds of setting have been completed and the minutes of the sittings would be compiled in booklet form which would be circulated to all the members.   Besides the agenda, the DC further raised one issue regarding the wild fire encountering during the windy season in the district every year where he felt that all the concerned Departments and NGOs should be prepared during the course of time. In this regard, the Board has therefore decided to have a meeting with the concerned Departments, namely, Forest, Police, Disaster Management, IPR, NGOs, Fire services, APO, ASU, AYO, Rengma Hoho, SAYO etc on January 28 at 12 pm at DC’s Conference Hall. The DC also appraised the members on the worked distribution for the fourth coming Republic Day celebration 2016 chalked out during the District Level Meeting held on January 12. The meeting ended with words of thanks from the chair.   The Departmental activities presentation was entrusted to ADC Tseminyu, Vikhweno Meratsu in the next DPDB meeting.
