Kohima DPDB discusses various agendas

Kohima, April 17 (DIPR): The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held in Kohima on April 16. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS where Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports and Chairman, Kohima DPDB, Er. Zale Neikha, Advisor for Rural Development, Neikiesalie Kire and Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resources, R. Khing also attended the meeting.  

Registration of societies

On the agenda for registration of societies, DC Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS informed that six societies have applied for registration which have been verified by the concerned administrative officers and committee where the House decided to forward it to the Home Department for necessary action.  

Mass social work on April 21

On the agenda of mass social work, he informed that it will be conducted on April 21 starting from 6:00 AM. He asked all the respective Administrative Officers and Heads of Departments in the district to make sure that the social work is conducted in respective offices and surroundings. He informed that he will be visiting all the wards and colonies and asked the Administrator, KMC to tie up with the various wards and colonies and KCCI, Kohima.  

‘Dustbin Free Town’

Pointing out that Kohima town being declared as ‘Dustbin Free Town’, he requested the KMC to tie up with other departments and to re-visit the dustbin collection points within the town and felt that if proper barricaded collection points could be installed, then the garbage would not be washed away by the rain and moreover, it would be easy for KMC to collect the garbage.  

The CEO for Smart City and KMC Administrator, Elizabeth Ngullie informed that to cover all the wards and colonies, the KMC trucks would not be sufficient, she therefore requested the line departments to contribute their trucks and JCBs for disposal of garbage during the social work. In this regard, Advisor, Nicky and Chairman, DPDB, Er Zale suggested tying up with KMC and requisite some vehicles from the line departments.
