KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 3 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kohima, through the Designated Officer for Food Safety, has issued a directive to all Food Business Operators (FBOs) in Kohima to immediately halt the distribution and sale of food products imported from Myanmar.
This directive comes after it was noted that these products do not comply with Regulation 5 (6) (b) of the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020, which requires that imported food packages display the name and complete address of the importer in India.
Failure to adhere to this directive will result in legal prosecution under Section 58 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
