KOHIMA, June 1 (MExN): The Kohima Forest Division, in collaboration with the 78th Battalion of the CRPF, Zubza, conducted a week-long Reforestation Program at the Forest Department-owned land at Zhadima. The initiative culminated on May 30 under the supervision of Devnat Somkunwar, Commandant, 78 Bn CRPF, and Dr. Sevono Seletsu, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kohima.

Organized as part of the World Environment Day campaign, the program aimed to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness about the importance of reforestation. During the closing ceremony, Dr Sevono Seletsu, Divisional Forest Officer, Kohima emphasized the critical role of tree plantation and community participation in preserving the environment. 

She urged all the stakeholders to sustain and scale up afforestation efforts for a greener future.

Among those present at the event were RV Philip, Second-in-Command, 78 Bn CRPF, Khriezovo Zutso, Assistant Commandant, 78 Bn CRPF, Savinuo Kikhi, Range Forest Officer, Chiephobozou, and Medo Kire, Range Forest Officer, Kohima, Forest Department staff and security personnel also participated in the program.
