
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): Kohima Highlanders and Elite B emerged champions in the men's and women's categories respectively, in the second edition of MS Ahluwalia Memorial 3x3 Basketball Tournament. The event was held at the JV Foundation Basketball Court between October 26 and 28.
Nagaland DGP, Rupin Sharma (IPS), was the special guest during the finale of the tournament. During his speech, the DGP expressed his gratitude to the Ahluwalia patrons for providing a platform for young ballers of Nagaland. He reminisced his close ties with the Sikh community, known for their selfless service to the world.
In his address, Harjinder Singh Dolly thanked the DGP for his presence and congratulated the president and his team of Dimapur District Basketball Association for the successful conduct of the tournament. Finally, he invited the teams for the third edition of MS Ahluwalia Memorial 3x3 Basketball Tournament next year.
In both the women's and men's sections, the winners went home with Rs 30,000 and the runners up received Rs 15,000. The two MVP's received a cash prize of INR 5000 and a customized jersey from 'House of Screens'.
