Kohima Highlanders- winner of OCK’s 6th Men’s Open Basketball Trophy

Kohima Highlanders emerged the champion title of the 6th Men’s Open Basketball Tournament 2025, organised by Oriental College Kohima at the college premises from September 29 to October 1.
Kohima Highlanders defeated Team Mystic Ballers (TMB) 103- 67 in a final match on October 1.With this, Team Kohima Highlanders received a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 while runner-up TMB pocketed Rs. 30,000.
Earlier, Kohima Highlanders found final berth after defeating Team Arrow Farm in the second semi final match while Team TMB overpowered Team Orca in the first semi final.
Keneitseizo of Kohima Highlanders bagged the MVP of the Tournament and received Rs. 5000.

The valedictory programme was graced by Keneingutuo Albert Whuorie, State Finance Manager, National Health Mission, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland.
In his speech, Whuorie congratulated Oriental College Kohima for providing opportunities to the youngsters to excel in the field of basketball.
He also encouraged the youngsters to cultivate interest in sports to foster robust physical and mental health,
The valedictory programme was chaired by Vizotuo Thorie, HoD, Department of Commerce while vote of thanks was proposed by Chubanenla Imchen, Dean of Students’ Welfare OCK.
The tournament concluded with thanksgiving prayer by Chibeni Murry, Vice Principal (Administration) OCK.

Mentionably, the tournament was declared open by Nunese Sale, Class 1 contractor, CEO Nune’s Construction, Chairperson, DCCTI, President, Vision Trinity Club, Chief Event Manager Kekhrie Krotho on September 29 last.
Altogether, 12 teams-Orca, Arrow Farm, Kohima Highlanders, Team Netters, Horsemen, Basic Ballers, ABC ‘A’, ABC ‘B,’ Tauras, Oriental College Kohima, Fernwood School and TMB joined the 6th edition.
