Kohima Law College conducts awareness campaign on ‘Fair Elections’

Kohima, March 31 (MExN): The Kohima Law College conducted an awareness campaign on the conduct of fair election on March 29 at the college premises with Kezhokhoto Savi, Professor-in-Charged B.C.I Practical Training Papers as resource person.

According to a press release, Savi, addressing the law students as potential ambassador for fair elections, urged them to help bring a break-through in the forth coming State Assembly Election and bring an end to all illegal means and corrupt practices. The State General Assembly election is slated to be held in early 2018.

Terming elections as the “root cause of corruption”, Savi further urged the students to take a bold step to fight against corruption by contributing their share of creating awareness to educate the importance of clean election. “We all demand for a corruption-free government and a better society to live in and we can achieve it only when the conduct of election is clean,” he said.

“Let us vote for a government who could be people friendly and ready to sacrifice to eradicate corruption in running the government by introducing an anti-corruption mechanism especially the Lokayukta, to set up State Human Rights Commission to protect the rights of man as human, to set up Food Commission as per the National Food Security Act 2013, etc.,” it added.
