Kohima Open Pickleball Tournament on August 16 & 17

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA), in collaboration with Pickopadel, has announced that the Kohima Open Tournament 2025 will be held from August 16-17 at the Akim Sports Centre, Kohima, with a total prize pool of Rs 50,000.

According to the organisers, the state-closed event will feature Men’s Doubles (Open) and Mixed Doubles (Open) categories, marking “another major milestone in NPA’s mission to promote and develop pickleball across Nagaland.”

The Indian Pickleball Association, in partnership with Pickopadel, described the Kohima Open as a “proud moment” for the sport, highlighting that it will be played at the Akim Sports Centre, situated at an altitude of 4,800 feet, which they said makes it the highest pickleball court in India. “This development marks a significant step forward for the sport in the region and sets the stage for high-quality competitions,” it stated.

In the lead-up to the tournament, the NPA said it is committed to creating “an exceptional competitive environment for players.” The event will bring together top talent from across the state, offering “an exciting platform for athletes to showcase their skills in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports,” it added.

Players have been encouraged to register before the August 14, 2025, 9:00 PM deadline, either by scanning the QR code on the official tournament poster or by visiting www.nagalandpickleballassociation.com.
