Kohima, March 29 (MExN): Personnel from South Police station on March 24 while conducting raid at Agri Farm colony, seized 147 litres of assorted IMFL which was found concealed at the house of one Binod Kumar (23). SDPO Kohima Shouka Kakheto informed in a press release that a case has been registered in South PS for investigation.
In a separate incident on March 25, two persons namely Neisalie (35), SS Captain and Kughavi (20), SS Corporal, of Lazami village, both belonging to GPRN/NSCN were apprehended by police personnel manning Peducha Police Check Post for extorting money from vehicles along the Highway. The press note informed that a case has been registered in Sechu Zubza PS for investigation.
Meanwhile, one person, namely Zakir Hussain (30) from Karimganj, Assam was also arrested for possessing 36 litres of IMFL from a Manipur bound bus bearing registration number MN04-2186. A case has been registered for investigation at Sechu Zubza PS in this regard.
Police personnel manning Peducha Police Check Post also recovered 170 Kgs of Ganja from a vehicle Scorpio (Black) bearing R/No. NL07-6907 on March 28, around 6: 30 pm after chasing the vehicle till Medziphema town. However, the SDPO informed that the driver managed to escape leaving behind the vehicle and the contraband. A case has been registered at Sechu Zubza PS for investigation.
Further, on March 28, police personnel manning Phesama Police Check Post at around 2:30 pm recovered 60 Kgs of Ganja from one person identified as Raheshwar Singh (23) from a Dimapur bound Bus with registration number MN06-B 0008. And at around 2:40 pm the same day, another 20 Kg of Ganja was recovered from a Dimapur bound Bus bearing registration number AS12-B 6136 which was unclaimed. Two separate cases at South PS have been registered respectively for investigation.
Meanwhile, 19th Assam Rifles personnel arrested one person, identified as Mhasibeituo (20), a resident of L Khel, Kohima on March 23. He was arrested from T Khel Market, Kohima for extorting money in the name of NSCN (K) by issuing non local slips. In this connection, a case has been registered in South PS and investigation taken up.
