Kohima Police foils cross-border vehicle theft, one held

Kohima, June 15 (MExN): A team of Kohima Police from Chiephobozou Police Station intercepted a dumper truck reported stolen from neighbouring Assam and arrested the driver on June 15.

Acting on intelligence, the police team moved decisively to halt the vehicle's illicit journey. The accused driver, operating the stolen vehicle, has been apprehended and is currently in police custody, informed a press release from the PRO, Kohima Police.

Demonstrating seamless cooperation, the recovered truck and the accused are being handed over to Assam Police, and a police team from neighbouring Assam is en route to Kohima to take possession, it added.

The PRO release further lauded the “vigilance and efficiency” of the Chiephobozou Police Station team and stated that the recovery and arrest underscore the ongoing coordination between Kohima Police and their Assam counterparts in combating cross-border crime.
