Kohima Police nabs four ‘habitual offenders’

Kohima, June 10 (MExN): The Kohima Police has announced the arrest of four individuals described as “habitual offenders” involved in multiple theft cases over the past three years.

According to a press release issued by the PRO, Kohima Police, the arrests were made by personnel of the Sechü (Zubza) Police Station on June 10, following a complaint filed by a resident of Sechü (Zubza).

The arrested individuals have been identified as Throngso Khiung Yim (28), Thoungaolou (21), Khriesietuo Dzuvichü (25), and Ruokuozhao Semou (20), all currently residing in Kohima.

As per the complaint, the accused had allegedly been stealing scrap materials, automobile parts, engine components, batteries, and other valuable items since 2023 from a business establishment located near the Old KMC dumping site. The estimated value of the stolen items is approximately Rs 4 lakh, the release stated.

In addition, the accused were also allegedly involved in the theft of iron materials belonging to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), which were meant for the ongoing four-lane highway construction project at Zubza.

A regular case has been registered in connection with the incident, and further investigation is underway, the police added.
