Kohima Police recovers 374 kgs of contraband ganja; two held 

Kohima, June 8 (MExN): The Mobile Unit of Kohima police on June 7 has recovered around 374 kilos (approx) of contraband ganja worth Rs 18.7 lakh in the national market from Forest colony Kohima during routine surveillance duty, an official release informed. 

The contraband ganja was detected when the unit undertook a thorough inspection of one suspicious vehicle (Maruti Gypsy) intercepted during the surveillance duty, informed the release issued by PRO, Kohima Police. 

In this connection, two persons identified as Stephen (27 yrs) and Roso (19 yrs) have been arrested and contraband along with the vehicle were seized, it said. 

Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle with the contraband ganja was proceeding towards Dimapur from Senapati, it added. 

A case has been registered at South Police Station for further investigation, the PRO further informed.
