Kohima, May 15 (MExN): The Kohima Police has recently recovered approximately 140 kilos of contraband ganja and arrested one person for transporting the same, an official informed today. The contraband ganja is worth approximately Rs. 7, 00,000/- (Rupees seven lakh) in the national market according the police. The item were recovered during a by routine checking and frisking of vehicles by Kohima Police manning Khuzama Inter-State police check gate, informed Kohima Police PRO Atu Zumvü NPS in a press note. In this connection, one person identified as AS Varechan (29 yrs) of Kamjong Village, under Ukhrul, District Manipur and presently a resident of Veuland Colony, Senapati, was taken into police custody, it added. The Police said a regular under relevant NDPS Act was registered against him for conducting further investigation in Khuzama Police Station.
