
Kohima, July 15 (MExN): The Regional Transport Authority, Kohima held a meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima on July 12. Presided over by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, the meeting addressed a range of transport-related issues.
A DIPR report stated that a task force has been constituted to study the issue of phasing out unfit commercial taxis and city buses. A rationalization exercise regarding fares of commercial vehicles has also been approved. Other critical issues discussed included fitness of school buses for safety of school children, relocation of food carts/night bazars, enforcement of no-parking zones, and a comprehensive review of Kohima’s overall traffic situation. A follow-up review meeting is scheduled in the month of August.
The meeting was attended by Administrator, Kohima Municipal Council; SDO (Civil) TPT; Additional SP, Traffic & Protocol; EAC ТРТ; DSP, Traffic; and Regional Transport Officer, Kohima & Member Secretary and KSCDL officials.
