
Kohima, April 8 (DIPR): The Alumni Association, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma in an effort to support their alma mater towards becoming an ‘Energy Efficient Institution’ fully sponsored the replacement of 2000 electric bulbs and 500 tubes with LED bulbs and tubes.
The initiative enabled the college to become the first institution in Kohima district to have 100% LED lighting in the college campus, hostels and all the staff quarters.
This was achieved under ‘UJALA- Energy Efficient Kohima’ undertaken by the District Administration Kohima in partnership with Energy Efficient Service Ltd. (EESL), a joint venture company of PSU of Ministry of Power, Government of India.
In this regard, a certificate was also awarded to the college by the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) on April 7 in recognition of the achievement of the college.
