This Pre-Engineered Infrastructure’s Multipupose hall was implemented by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland.
“This is not just a building, it is an investment in the dreams of our youth,” said Metha, who is also advisor to Nagaland’s Chief Minister and vice president of Athletics Federation of India. Metha emphasized that the project is not merely about infrastructure but about building opportunities that will shape the lives and futures of generations to come. “This achievement is a shared victory. While the government facilitated this project, the credit truly belongs to the people whose support made it possible,” Metha said.
He announced the government’s target to complete similar infrastructure across all 17 districts of the state within the year. “This isn’t just a concrete building. It is a long-term investment in the aspirations of our youth.”
Metha recalled the contributions of Nagaland’s sports icons such as Chekrovolu Swüro, the Olympic archer from Nagaland, and historic football figures from the regions who have contributed to India’s legacy.
Calling the new hall a future hub for national-level events, he said “If a boy playing barefoot can captain the national football team, and a girl from an interior village can win 16 international medals, then surely this stadium too will produce champions in sport, in character, and in spirit.”
Advisor S Keoshu Yimkhiung, congratulated the village and all contributors, stating, “We give glory to God and extend our gratitude to the Chief Minister for his visionary leadership.”
Yimkhiung addressed the need for deeper commitment among Naga youth. “We have immense talent, but what we lack is full-time dedication and professionalism in sports,” he said. Encouraging village councils to actively identify and promote promising athletes, he stressed that now is the time to focus on outcomes and excellence. “Our goal is to produce sportsmen and women who will represent India on the global stage,” he said.
