Kohima street vendors participate in Citizen Perception Survey

Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched the Ease of Living Index 2019 for 114 cities including all the 100 Smart Cities in India, where Citizen Perception Survey has been added as an integral component of the EOLI 2019 to help directly capture the perception of the Citizens with respect to Ease of Living in their cities. 


The Citizen Perception Survey has been assigned a weightage of 30% under EOLI and will culminate on February 29.


“The Kohima Smart City in an effort to reach all citizens to participate in the citizens perception reached out to the street vendors,” said Kovi Meyase, CEO, Kohima Smart City Development Limited in a press release. 


Meyase said that citizen’s opinions are important and integral towards holistic urban planning for any city and in this the Kohima Smart City in collaboration with the Green Team Kohima is reaching out to the street vendors conveying that every opinion is valuable and important.


“The volunteers were seen sitting with the street vendors and help them participate in the online survey by explaining the questions and options. It was reported that the street vendors happily participated and thanked the volunteers for approaching them and some Vendors were also seen handing out fruits for free,” he stated. 


The CEO said that the Kohima Smart City also intends to reach out to the senior citizens, daily wage laborers, construction workers and the population that are not IT savvy in the days ahead through the EOLI Volunteers. 
The Ease of Living Index Awareness Posters is coming up in all the wards and Commercial areas including the banks and post office for awareness creation on the survey, he added.
