The Sub-Centre Building at Tsiepfütsiepfe/AG Colony Council, Ward No. 15 Kohima, was formally inaugurated on November 29.
MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso graced the event as the special guest and unveiled the building plaque as an act of the inauguration of the Sub Centre building.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Rhutso underscored the importance of strengthening grassroots health infrastructure and expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated Sub-Centre will greatly benefit the residents of the area.
He called for continued cooperation between government agencies and local bodies to further enhance public health services. He urged citizens to be responsible and not rely solely on the government, emphasizing the importance of community contribution for overall welfare.
Dr Rhutso assured the gathering that he would extend all possible support to the colony. He also encouraged the community and the Medical Department to utilize available funds judiciously for the betterment of the colony.
Dr N Leamnyei Konyak, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kohima, acknowledged the collective efforts that contributed to the successful completion of the project. He assured that an Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) would be established if the colony could provide suitable land for its construction. He also highlighted the various benefits and facilities available under the UPHC scheme.
He stated that the health centre is being communitized to empower the community, emphasizing that healthcare is a shared responsibility between the government and the people.
Kevi Kintso, Convenor, Building Committee also spoke at the programme. The programme was chaired by Vilekho Bio, General Secretary of TTC while welcome address was delivered by Neizokhotuo Belho, Chairman, TTC.
