G- Sports FC and New Market FC today emerged victorious in their respective matches at the ongoing Kohima Super Cup 2022 here at Indira Gandhi Stadium.
G- Sports FC defeated Hurricane Boys Phesama 6-2 in the first match. Imlong Chaba Chang scored a hat-trick for G. Sports FC while Asito Krose, Menguzelie Rutsa and Yami Longav added a goal each for the team. Abei Kar and Riivisie Zashiimo netted a goal each for Hurricane Boys.
New Market FC trounced Sechü FC Academy 9-0. Noune Medoze contributed four goals for New Market FC while Nyithong Magh netted two goals. Kevisanyii Peseyie, Neithovilie Chalieu and Letkhokai Kuki also contributed a goal each.
3rd Xavier Rutsa Memorial Trophy
Meanwhile, the 3rd Xavier Rutsa Memorial Trophy will be played between Kohima Town Club (KTC), the organiser of the ongoing Kohima Super Cup 2022 and Kohima Press Club (KPC) on May 29 at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima after the second semi-final round.
This friendly football match between the two clubs, is organized as a tribute to late Xavier Rutsa, who was one of the founding members of both the clubs.
