Kohima town inter-ward football & volleyball concluded

Winner of Kohima Town Inter-Ward Football & Volleyball tournament, Ward 15 (AG) celebrates their victory at Kohima.
 
Kohima | September 14 : The weeklong Kohima Town Inter-Ward Football & Volleyball tournament, organized by NPF 9th Kohima A/C concluded here this evening at the Kohima Local Ground. In Men’s football final, Ward 15 (AG) lifted the champion trophy while Ward 8 (New Market) stood runners-up. They carried Rs. 35,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively.
In women’s volleyball final played here this afternoon, Ward 18 (Para Medical/Lower Agri) won the champion title after defeating Ward 19 (PR Hill). The champion team received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 while the runners up pocketed Rs. 20,000. Prizes were also awarded to Imlisenla- Ward 19 (PR Hill), Medophrenuo- Ward 12 (Upper Chandmari) and Tsayem Thonger- Ward 11 (PWD) for winning first, second and third position respectively in solo competition. They received Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7500 and Rs. 5000 respectively.
The winners of band competition included- Ist: Cadence- Ward 10 (Officer’s Hill), 2nd- Faded Black –Ward 3 (North Block) and 3rd- Nineteenth- Ward 19 (PR Hill). They pocketed Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
Earlier, addressing the gathering on-behalf the MLAs, Kejong Chang acknowledged Dr. Nicky for keeping his people together by organizing various events stating that he is the most smart and energetic MLA who gets involved in almost all the field. Asserting that the government needs an MLA like him, Kejong urged the gathering to extend full support in the coming election.
He also encouraged the players to and urged to maintain the bond of friendship they have for one another. Host of MLAs including Aloh Wangham, Vikho-o Yoshü, Kipili Sangtam, and Dr Nicky Kire attended the function this afternoon. Dr. Ralte CMO Kohima handed out the prizes to the winners and also the participants.
