Kohima Village Gazetted Officers’ Association biennial conference held

The biennial conference of Kohima Village Gazetted Officers’ Association (KVGOA) took place here today at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima, hosted by Dapfhütsumia Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (DGOK).


Formed in 1991, the KVGOA has 434 members at present.


Speaking on the occasion, Kohima Deputy Commissioner Thejawelie Gregory maintained that gazetted officers are the cream of the society and urged upon them to be committed and give their best service for all round development of the society.


He challenged the officers to live upto the expectation of the public by connecting various government programmes and facilities to the public at the grassroot level.


Also urging the officers to perform their duties diligently, he asked them to feel satisfied to serve elsewhere, especially in the remote areas of the state.
He also sought the active involvement of the KVGOA on various social issues and developmental works in and around Kohima.


Kohima Village Council chairman Dr. Neiphi Kire said that gazetted officers are the ‘think tank’ of the public and urged upon them to exercise comprehensive plan and mechanism for the welfare and progress of the community.


He also urged upon the members of KVGOA to stay united, adding that everything is possible through the facet of unity and mutual understanding.
Further, he appreciated the effort and invaluable contributions of KVGOA towards the welfare and upliftment of the citizens of Kohima village in particular and the Nagas as a whole.


Dr. Kire informed that Kewhimia Day will be observed on March 16 this year and sought the support of each and every individual for the success of the celebration.


Sharing the concern of KVC on the issue of illegal immigrants, he informed that the Council would soon notify the restriction for renting out house/building to illegal immigrants within its jurisdiction.


KVGOA president Er. Keviletuo Yiese delivered presidential address.
Nomination committee convenor Dr. Vilatuo Rutsa announced the new team of KVGOA for 2019-2022 with Dr. Vizolie Suokhrie as president, Zakielatuo Yiese- vice president, Peter Phewhuo- general secretary, Neivotuo Keyho- treasurer and Er. Keviletuo Yiese as advisor.
The Association also felicitated seven NPSC successful candidates and welcomed them into the family of KVGOA.


KVGOA general secretary Er.Medozhazo Rutsa and treasurer Er. Kelhousinyu Solo presented their respective reports at the conference.
Earlier, the function was chaired by KVGOA vice president Er. Menuolhoulie Suokhrie.


Dziesekhrienuo Keretsii presented special number while vote of thanks was proposed by DGOK president Dr. Khriesilie Sachü.
