Kohima village rejects delimitation

Kohima, March 21 (MExN): The Kohima Village Council (KVC) executive held an emergency meeting today at the Kohima Village Council Hall and deliberated on the working paper release of the delimitation commission for re-adjustment of assembly constituencies for the state of Nagaland. “The KVC executive out rightly rejected the working paper release on March 18, 2007 in toto as the same is detrimental to the social and cultural fabric and life of the people in the Angami area and resolved that status quo be maintained on the earlier constituencies for the greater interest of the people,” said KVC chairman Keduotuolie Mepfhuo and secretary Neisakhotuo Solo in a release received here. Further, the KVC executive resolved to oppose the proposal initiated by NPF Kohima Division for re-adjustment of assembly constituencies effecting the jurisdiction and territories of Kohima Village, the release added.
