The Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) today announced that the 65th Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) Meet, 2022 will be held from January 17-22, 2022.

Announcing this during a press conference at KVYO office here today, Neingusalie Khruomo, core committee convenor 65th KVSA Meet 2022 said that the mascot for the 65th KVSA Meet, 2022 is a Rooster named as ‘Vi Lope.’ The mascot concept was given by Neivotuo Keyho and the mascot was unveiled by K Neibou Sekhose, President Nagaland Football Association on September 27, 2021 at de Oriental Grand, Kohima.

The week-long Sporting events will be held at Khuochiezie, Indira Gandhi Stadium, Riileizou, State Indoor Stadium Kohima. 

Four Khels of Kohima Village will vie for 49 Gold in Athletic events, 5 Gold for Games event and 13 Gold for Indoor events, including under 16 Wrestling and Senior Wrestling events.

KVSA has celebrated its 75 years anniversary in 2019.

The KVSA was initiated in 1944 with the aim to foster friendship and Unity among the villagers and the first wrestling meet was held at Thevokemouzie.

The 65th KVSA meet torch will be light from Thevokemouzie.  Later on, different disciplines were added and slowly it immerges to present status.

The KVSA meet will be not just a sporting event but a festival where young and old, male or female, sports persons or the lay people will join to celebrate friendship and unity.

KVSA was the 2nd Sports Association Registered from the North Eastern States in Independent India.

The Theme of KVSA “To have played fairest, hardest and For the Team” has indeed inspire the sportspersons to give their best to out- performed the previous records.
 
1000 sports persons to vie for Rs 10 lakh prize money
As many as 1000 Sportspersons from the four Khels will be participating, with more than 100 judges from various disciplines to judge the events and more than 200 volunteers to helped in the preparation and in successful conduct of the Events.

10 lakhs have been earmarked for the Prize money and Record Breaker will get 10,000 / - in cash in addition to his other prize money including medal and citations.

“This is to encourage to encourage and to push the upcoming sportspersons to professionalism in sports, Khruomo said.
To bring out the best performance from the sports persons, 3 days will focus on Athletics event, Football, Basketball (men), Volleyball (men & women) will be played in League format and football final match will be played under the light. 

Selection Committee for various disciplined will be formed to select the best sportspersons to participate in the NASA meet 2022.
