Resource persons with participants of teachers’ orientation programme in Kohima on July 7.

Kohima, July 7 (MExN): The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Capital College of Higher Education (CCHE) Kohima has conducted a teachers’ orientation programme on “Transformative pedagogy for empowering students” on July 7.
The orientation aimed to prepare faculty members for the upcoming academic session with a renewed focus on student-centered and outcome-based teaching practices.
The programme was moderated by Theja Lohe, Assistant Professor, Department of Tenyidie and highlighting the importance of adopting transformative approaches in pedagogy to meet the evolving needs of students in today’s education landscape.
During 1st session, Opangmenla Jamir, IQAC, Coordinator focused on the shifting paradigms in education. Jamir emphasized how the goals of education are no longer limited to content delivery but now extend to fostering critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and global citizenship.
The session urged teachers to realign their teaching objectives to cater to holistic student development, thereby contributing meaningfully to personal and societal growth.
Dr. Rukulu Kezo, Assistant Professor, Department of English conducted practical session on blended pedagogy.
The second session was a practical session which focuses on how technology can be integrated effectively into classroom teaching to enhance learning outcomes. Teachers were introduced to simple digital tools and formats (such as Google Classroom, WhatsApp, and Google Forms) that can be used to complement in-person teaching.
The session provided practical ideas on how classroom time can be used more productively for interaction, discussion, and problem-solving, while content delivery and assignments can be managed digitally.
