Kohima Yikhum Union condemns Doyang incident 

Kohima, January 31 (MExN): The Kohima Yikhum Union (KYU) has expressed anguish to learn the incident at Doyang, Wokha on January 27 wherein one Mhabemo Mozhui, NSCN (IM) attempted to “murder” Nyanbemo Kithan and Wochothung Odyuo of Yikhum village. 


On learning the gravity of the incident, the Union held an emergency meeting and vehemently condemned the heinous crime committed by the culprit. “The Union in utter reference of the records known from reliable source asserts that the culprit has meted out a humiliating act against members of Yikhum Village on past several occasions,” KYU chairman stated in a condemnation note. 


The Union has also extended their support to the resolutions and demands of the Yikhum Village Council (YVC) including immediate termination of the culprit from national service and bearing of all medical expenses that may incur towards the treatment of the victim.


The Union further appeals to all responsible citizens and organizations to condemn such crime at this juncture when Naga people are yearning for peaceful coexistence.
