The main year long silver jubilee celebration of the Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC) entered the 2nd day at NBCC Convention Centre in Kohima on Saturday with a challenge to pay heed to the call of the Lord for the great commission.
The speaker for the evening service was Rev Joy Lalsangkima, Director of Agapia Social Centre, who spoke on the topic, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the Laborers are less” (Mathew 9:37).
He explained the need for discipleship and pointed out why Jesus Christ came to the world –stating that the core principle is to save humanity with love and restore mankind with God through the begotten son, Jesus Christ.
He maintained that Christ’s coming to the earth is to save mankind from sin and make disciples.
In this, he challenged the congregation to have burden and passion for the perishing souls with truth. He also pointed out the prevalence of too many churches in the Northeast region with wrong doctrines, teachings and misleading and warned to be watchful of such.
Further, he challenged the congregation not to be static alone in their faith with grace but further progress from citing from John 8: 31-32, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” and spread the message of salvation.
Jubilee greeting was delivered by Solomon Waskar from Maharashtra. He called upon the congregation to be faithful to the Lord and fulfill the great commission while having a burden for the Lord’s good news to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The evening service was led by Medotsilieu Kiewhuo Pastor, KBC while Jubilee Choir, Youth & Jr CYE Choir and Deborah Group presented special songs.
Earlier during the day, there was a ‘Jubilee Concert and Talents Celebration’ wherein Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo, Founder and Senior Pastor exhorted the gathering which was compered by Kikruneinuo Liezietsu and Aben Belho.
On Sunday (December 18), the worship service will take place at 10: 00 AM with Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo, Founder and Senior Pastor, KBC as the speaker. The service will be led by Khriezovolie Suokhrie. Later in the evening, Dr Rev Batkupar Dunai, Senior Pastor, Cathedral of Praise Now Generation Outreach Revival Assembly Shillong Meghalaya will be the speaker and will be led by Menuosielie Usou, Evangelist KBC.
