Marking 25th Hornbill Festival 2024, two Konyak gunsmiths from Changlangshu village under Mon district have been demonstrating the process of gun making at Craft Scape (The Naga Craft Portfolio) under the aegis of Art & Culture department, Nagaland, at World War II Museum ground, Kisama.

The Konyak Nagas are expert gunsmiths.

The origin of this culture is obscure and probably the knowledge has existed with the community for a long time.

Apart from forging a wide range of agricultural tools and implements, they make muzzle loading guns and pistols.

The guns and pistols are loaded with gun powder and fired with deadly results. Their skills are amply displayed when firing up their guns during dance performances.

This Craft Scape also feature demonstration other craft which starts from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily.
