
Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): After June 5, a firing incident was reported once again on June 13 at Loiye village in Naga Self-Administered Zone, Myanmar between the NSCN-K (Yung Aung) General Head Quarter (GHQ) and Council Head Quarter (CHQ) even as the Konyak Union Myanmar (KUM) ‘re-appeals’ for peaceful atmosphere and amicably solution of issues.
As per the KUM, the firing was done by a team of GHQ team, creating more tension and fear psychosis among innocent people. ‘Therefore, public are dismay for ignoring the voice for peaceful atmosphere within the government,’ state a press release issue on behalf of the KUM by the Union’s President PM Aman, General Secretary, K Akham Honwang.
Accordingly, the KUM reiterated its appeals to “stop fighting with each other in the public place” and urged GHQ and CHQ leaders led by NSCN-K President Yung Aung for “amicably conditions and situation in Eastern Konyak area.”
'Public are sacrificing and give service for the sake of Naga sovereignty, not for the multiplying factions,' it added.
Meanwhile, the KUM has clarified its statement regarding firing incident June 5 between Council Head Quarter (CHQ) and General Head Quarter (GHQ) NSCN K in the Nyanching field.
‘As per the re-report, while CHQ team was coming to Nyanching side, and the GHQ team had ambushed and fired upon CHQ,’ it clarified. In this connection, the KUM regretted and apologised to CHQ team for mentioning in the statement that the CHQ has “forcefully attacked” when it was ambushed, instead.
