Kiphire, June 23 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Kiphire block in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kiphire organized training on mushroom cultivation, vermicomposting, bee keeping, and nutritional garden under Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan at Kisetong village from June 20 to 22.
The programme started with a briefing on Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan by Kekosenuo Solo, Block Technology Manager (BTM), ATMA Kiphire block, informed a press release received here. She informed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in line with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling farmer's income by 2022 launched the Kisan Kalyan Abhiyan to aid, assist, and advise the farmers on how to improve their farming technologies and raise their income.
The resource person for the first day Mhabemo Patton, Assistant Technology Manager (ATM), ATMA Kiphire block trained the farmers on bee keeping, bee management and timely extraction of honey bees.
The second day started with Kekosenuo Solo, BTM Kiphire block training the farmers on mushroom cultivation, the process, and how it can help double their income.
On the third day, Setsiba, BTT convenor spoke about nutritional garden and vermicomposting and how it can help the farmers improve their economy. It was followed by an interaction session between the farmers and the officials. A total of 31 farmers attended the programme, where mushroom spawns and vegetable seeds were distributed to the participants.
