Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mon carries out Swachhta Hi Seva

Mon, September 12 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mon carried out Swachhta Hi Seva (Cleanliness Service) – a fortnightly campaign programme starting from September 12 to October 2 at KVK Mon Office, Aboi. Dr Manoj Singh Sachan, ACTO (GPB) shared the importance of planting trees for green environment and ecosystem.
Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Mon in a press release stated awareness on public hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness of one’s surrounding, planting of forest trees were also shared.
Dr Paihem Michui, ACTO (Ani Sc) said that Swachhta Hi Seva aims to generate greater public participation towards cleanliness and to make sanitation everyone’s business.
While celebrating the programme, Sr Scientist & Head, Dr Ruokuoville Mezhatsu delivered power point presentation on plastic waste management and towards effective ban of single use plastic. During the interactive session, Phuju, farmer from Ngangching village encouraged the gathering to put into practice cleanliness in one’s life.
Farm women from Sowa village challenged the participants to be agents of change. Poleng Konyak, civil society from Aopao village shared on behalf of the participants to contribute oneself towards cleanliness drive for a better and greener village.
Planting of Khokan (Dhuabanga grandiflora Roxb) tree saplings were done at KVK premises. Altogether 120 farmers, farmwomen, rural youth, extension personnel and civil societies from Sowa, Mohung Changgai, Aopao, Ngangching, Langmeing villages and different wards of Aboi town participated.
