Phek, March 7 (MExN): The 13th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Phek was conducted on March 6.
Chaired by Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Director, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema, the meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Shanavas C as special invitee.
Dr. RK Singh, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Phek presented the action taken as well as progress report of 2017-18, while Dr Rinku Bharali, ACTO (Horticulture) presented the annual action plan for the year 2018-19.
The programme was followed by a discussion and suggestions from the members of the committee, which included officials from agriculture and allied departments, NGOs and progressive farmers, informed a press release.
The Deputy Commissioner, Shanavas C suggested to include maximum villages across the district for infusing various farm oriented technologies. He emphasized on need based crop production, processing and marketing of the farmers produce.
Director Dr Abhijit Mitra meanwhile suggested for convergence of line departments by formulating a uniform agricultural policy for the district.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr T. Esther Longkumer, ACTO (Soil Science) KVK-Phek.
