KROS College welcome newcomers

Quality education is a must: Minister Kiyanilie

The KROS College, Lerie Kohima today welcomed the newcomers during 6th Freshers’ Day held here with Minister for Social Welfare & Security And Parliamentary Affairs Kiyanilie Peseyie as invitee.  

Expressing happiness over their entry into this institution, the freshers also sought the cooperation and support of the seniors to carry forward their further career in cordial, efficient and successful manner.  

In his address, Peseyie stressed that education means all round development of an individual.  

In pursuit of education, he said, one should not forget that “quality education” is a must and it supersedes all. “In this competitive age, there is no room for complacency and those students without quality education will be left out,” he said and appealed to all the students to take their studies seriously.  

Stating that in olden days, our forefathers were known for their values of sincerity, truthfulness, integrity, obedience and respect for the elders, the minister however regretted that “But today, it is sad to see that these values which once formed the benchmark of our society is fast disappearing.”  

In this, the minister challenged one and all to join hand to revive it before it is too late.  

KROS College principal Imsuinla Imti articulated the achievements of KROS College of 100% in commerce and 87.5% of arts result in the recent University Examinations and especially the passed out students who secured positions in various fields.  

She said “KROS College is committed to nurture each student’s potential, excellence in educational delivery, assist students to exercise genuine respect for others, to develop healthy relationships and to become responsible citizens”. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Royim M. Yimchunger, president Students’ Council KROS College.  

Mabalamtam Konyak spoke on behalf of fresher while vote of thanks was proposed by Daniel Konyak, general secretary Students’ Council KROS College.
