The Krurhe Peli 14 is all set to celebrate its silver jubilee on March 10 at 11:00 am at Chatsa, opposite NPSC office, Kohima.


The Tenyidie word 'Krurhe' means a group of folks who shares a common interest/taste; a collective of individuals with the same mindset who appreciate each other and chooses to be in a Group.


With that in mind, the Peli No 14 comprising of age group between 1979 to 1985 born of Lhisemia Khel, Kohima Village has taken the essence of the word ‘Krurhe’ to strengthen and bond its Peli.


Presently, Krurhe Peli 14 house 169 members. Out of total 181 members, 12 members passed away.


 
Silver jubilee

Krurhe Peli is most blessed to be celebrating the silver jubilee on March 10 and it take this time of celebration to acknowledge God and his many blessings on Peli, the village elders for their continuous guidance and support and Peli-mates from Kohima village and all the well-wishers for their contribution and support.


MLA Toyang Chang will grace the silver jubilee celebration as the special guest.


The celebration will be marked by Inter Peli indigenous games competition like “Kehu,” “Mepfü,” “ Kero Keteshii” and “ Tha pru.”


The evening session will be marked by musical extravaganza.


 
History


The Krurhe Peli started in the year 1995 in accordance with Tenyima culture and tradition for the youth to come together in unity and to keep our ancestral practices alive. And through the formation of the Peli, we have been actively taking part in our Tenyimia/Angami traditions during Festivals, Sports Meets and all other social and cultural events, said organizing committee convenor Kekhrielelie Tseikha while addressing a press conference here this evening.


He said the Krurhe Peli, desires to preserve the beautiful and rich cultural heritage “as well as practice our ancestral values of brotherhood, friendship, solidify our cultural identity and strengthen in unity and truth.”

 

Rüleichü

In commemoration of the silver jubilee, Krurhe Peli 14 has constructed Rüleichü, which will be dedicated on March 10.


Rüleichü is a Tenyidie word used by forefathers to specify and denote for a place to be specifically used for resting while coming from paddy field and hunting. And today, Krurhe Peli wants to use this word Rüleichü and name it Krurhe Rüleichü, so that everyone from all walks of life can come to this place, take a deep breath and rest well.


“And with the opening of our Krurhe Peli's Riileichii on March 10, we want to immortalised God’s blessings upon our Peli and showcase our rich cultural heritage and also to add beautification to our land,” Tseikha said.


The Krurhe Peli Rüleichü will be a Plastic-Free Zone and will be opened for the public for any outings, picnics and general gathering with request to keep the place clean.
