The Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) today organised 4.0 edition of ‘Fit India Swachhata Freedom Run’ at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima under the theme “Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat.”

Fit India Mission converges with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with Fit India Freedom Run (Plog Run) where fitness meets Swachhata in a form of engaging fun-loving exercise is now entailed in Fit India Freedom Run culminating where people discover a litter free clean surroundings while running.

The Fit India Swachhata Freedom Run aims is to educate and encourage the citizens regarding fitness and maintain healthy lifestyle which can free people  from the  bondages  of obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases and help  develop motor abilities like strength, speed, endurance, coordination, flexibility, agility and balance.

The Fit India Freedom Run is a vision to strengthen the Fit Indian Movement and involve citizens to embrace fitness as a way of life.

The event was flagged off by Kekhriesetuo Ziephrü Senior General Manager HR, KSCDL. Ziephrü enlightened the participants regarding the objectives of the event and encouraged all the participants to be responsible and committed to make  Kohima City Clean, Hygienic  and Healthy City.

Students from Sports Academy under Youth Resources & Sports Department participated in the run with the department officers and coaches. More than 200 citizens joined the run.

Later, the he participants pledged to make India a fit nation through physical fitness and protect “our earth free from waste & garbage’s through proper segregation and management of wastes.”

Kezhochole Rhetso, Sr. General Manager KSCDL encouraged the participants to carry forward regular physical activity which can have great positive impact upon one’s health and deadly  diseases can be eliminated through daily exercise.
