
Kohima, July 29 (MExN): The faculty, staffs and students of Kohima Science College Jotsoma (KSCJ) mourned the demise of Rev. Haizotuo Angami on July 27 last.
Lt. Rev. Haizotuo Angami was associated KSCJ for the last 58 years. He is one of the seven ‘Founding Fathers’ of KSCJ.
Under the chairmanship of Lt. Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire alongwith Lt. JB Josokie, Lt. Keduonyu Sekhose, Lt. Vizol Angami, Lt. UM Deb, Lt. Akum Imlong and Rev. Haizotuo Angami with the support of the community started KSC in 1961.
Lt. Rev. Haizotuo Angami was 40 years then- he was a teacher, a booker seller and a businessman. He took over the responsibilities of the office administrator where he took care of the faculty who had joined the college the college from outside the state. He saw to their security and supply of their needs which was a very difficult task at that time as there was feeling of fear and uncertainty everywhere due to the political turmoil. He also looked after the finances and was involved in fund raising for the college.
“Today, we remember with gratefulness the contributions, sacrifices and concern that our ‘founding father’ Rev. Haizotuo Angami had for KSC for the last 58 years. The students fondly called him the “Grand old man,” a condolence message received here stated.
“He was the most loving and generous person. Always willing to help and give valuable advices from his years of experiences in life. We thanked our Almighty God for granting him a long and blessed life to be a blessing to all those around him,” the condolence message stated adding “In his demise, we have lost a dear friend, mentor and guide.”
The condolence message stated that the faculty, staff and students of KSCJ will remain ever grateful for the commitment and sacrifices Lt. Rev. Haizotuo Angami made towards building the college to what is today.
