
Kohima, June 10 (MExN): The Kohima Sumi Students' Union (KSSU) has extended support to the Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland’s (PSAN) ultimatum to five departments – Rural Development, Social Welfare, Labour Employment, Art and Culture, and Treasuries & Accounts.
“The KSSU will not tolerate the misuse of power by some individuals for the vested interest overlooking all merits,” asserted a press statement from Hikavi Kinimi, President and Litina Aye, Secretary Women Affairs of KSSU.
It further appealed to the departments concerned to immediately cancel “illegal backdoor appointments” and demanded requisition of all posts that fall under the purview of NPSC.
Meanwhile, the union warned the government not to bypass the office memorandum issued through the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Administrative Reforms Branch) Vide No. AR-5/ASSO/98 dated 6th June 2016.
The office memorandum, it said, had banned all adhoc/ casual/ temporary/ workcharged appointments in the State. The OM said, “Any appointments made on the contract basis, henceforth, shall be null and void,” according to the statement.
The KSSU further assured to support PSAN in “cleansing the menace of backdoor appointment in its entirety.”
