
Mon, February 12 (MExN): The Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) Mon has once again reminded the Department of School Education, Government of Nagaland pertaining to the upgradation of Government High School ‘C’ to Government Higher Secondary School and introduction of Commerce Stream at GHSS ’D’. “The Union has submitted its representation. However, the Government and department pay no heed to the grievances laid down by the Union concerning over the students,” KSU President T Noklem Konyak and Education Secretary Ngengwang Konyak stated in a press release.
Even this year a total number of 2431 students are appearing the HSLC examination from Mon District and maximum number of students will be seeking admission within the district, it stated. “As such, the Union urge the concerned authority to kindly upgrade the existing GHS ‘C’ to GHSS and to introduce Commerce stream at GHSS ‘D’ with sufficient teaching faculties and make it functional from this academic session 2024,” KSU added.
KSU also expressed its displeasure over the practices of proxy culture in almost all the government schools. It also cautioned that if any teachers are caught involving in such practices the union will take legal action against the defaulters.
