DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): Following protest by the students of Wangkhao Government College (WGC) in Mon over shortage of teachers in the college, the Konyak Students Union (KSU) today questioned why successive governments have neglected the lone college for the entire district.
“The lone college for entire Mon district with 474 students is running with only 17 teachers out of which 7 teachers are on contract basis and the principal is non-teaching staff,” a press release from the KSU informed.
The union demanded that the State Government and the Department of Higher Education take up their genuine demand seriously adding that failure to do so would compel the KSU to bring the students of the entire district to the streets in protest.
