KSU discuss erection of Martyr memorial stone

MON: The Konyak Students Union Advisory board held a meeting at its office chamber and discussed issues pertaining to the erection of a martyr memorial stone in respect of Late Panglem and Late Chahtai Konyak who were kidnapped and killed by the NSCN (IM) on March 18, 2005 during the peace rally at Leangha village and later the dead body was found in a latrine pit about 4 km away from the village, stated a press release by the KSU. It was also learned that the board will approach the Director Doordarshan Kendra for broadcasting and relaying of the documentary picture of the entire episode of the record for wide public judgement. 

It also asserted that the board will put forward a memorandum to the International (IHRC), National (NHRC) and Regional (NPMHR) Human Rights body informing of what it termed as the “inhuman act and atrocities perpetrated by the NSCN (IM) to innocent people in general and the Konyaks in particular for justice.”
