KTC football referees’ clinic underway

A six-day football referees clinic under the aegis of Kohima Town Club (KTC) got underway at Kohima Local Ground on Saturday with All India Football Federation Referee Instructor Joy Chandra and All Manipur Football Association Referee Instructor Tarun Kumar as clinic instructors.  

Altogether, 23 referees joined the clinic, which will go on till April 12.   Addressing the launching programme, Nagaland Football Association (NFA) Secretary K. Neibu Sekhose maintained that the referees’ clinic will go a long way in improving the standard of football referee in the state.  

Sekhose added that referees also need to possess courage, common sense, and presence of mind to impose any disciplinary action or sports rules.  

Also speaking on the occasion, KTC President Dr. Viketuolie Pienyü said the main objective of the clinic is to improve the standard of football referees in the state.
