
Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): The Konyak Union (Myanmar) has expressed appreciation for the NSCN (IM) and its Mount Veda Peace Mission for their significant role in restoring peace in the Eastern Konyak area.
The KU (Myanmar) and KSU (Myanmar) expressed gratitude to General Ningkhan Shimray and the peace mission for bringing about reconciliation at a time when the region was facing unprecedented challenges.
They also extended appreciation to Captain Atem, the PRO cum Chaplain, for his contributions to the peace process. During a consultative meeting on August 13 with KU(M) and KSU(M) leaders, the Mount Veda Peace Mission reaffirmed its commitment to organizing the Naga people through peaceful means, stating that they had no intention of adopting negative policies or demanding contributions from the public in the name of the Naga National movement.
The Konyak Union also appealed to all Naga national leaders to follow the example set by the Mount Veda Peace Mission and work towards unity and harmony among the various Naga factions.
