Kuchohii is Kohima College wrestling champion

The 49th annual sports week of Kohima College Kohima (KCK), which started on September 5, culminated today with a Naga wrestling meet.  

Kuchohii Curha, a student of 3rd semester and belonging to Khomi village, and Megovilie Miasalhou, also of 3rd semester from Mezoma village, emerged as champion and runners-up and pocketed cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 4000 respectively.  

Pfudilhoukho Chiisi, of 5th Semester, and Vedukho Shijo, of 3rd semester, bagged 3rd and 4th position and received cash prizes of Rs. 3500 and Rs. 2000 respectively.  

Kohima College vice principal Thinuokhrienuo said that wrestling is included as one of the events in its annual sports week to promote the indigenous games.  

She recalled three past pupils of the college - Vekhriyi Chuzho, Neibu Rio and Megosier Khate – who went on to win the Naga wrestling championships and encouraged the students to follow the footstep of the three former pupils.
