Dimapur, February 9 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Union Dimapur (KUD) today informed in a press statement that it disassociates with immediate effect from the Khiamniungan Tribal Council along with Vice President and all designated Khiamniungan Tribal Council officials from Dimapur base “owing to the misunderstanding in the matter related to ULB election meeting on January 16, 2017 of the Khiamniungan Tribal Council meeting held at Noklak.” Citing reason for the decision, KUD Executive Chairman C. Shangjeu and President B. Peniang in the press statement added that the ultimatum served to the Khiamniungan Tribal Council on January 16, 2017 seeking for justice was not satisfactorily justified to the Union. “The Khiamniungan Union Dimapur stands with the rest of the Nagas,” it affirmed. Further, the Union expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the two youths who have sacrificed their life for the cause of the Nagas and also pray for the early recovery to all the injured persons.
