Chümoukedima, February 4 (MExN): The Kudawhi Union Dimapur (KUD) held its general meeting at Tenyiphe I village council hall, Chümoukedima on February 3.
Addressing the meeting as the special guest, Helievio Solo Chairman, Kohima Village Council (KVC) spoke on ‘importance of preserving our language which is the root and origin of our identity,’ KUD stated in a press release.
Addressing the house, the four Kohima Village Khel Council chairmen, women and youth presidents of Kohima village, spoke on the value of love and affection for one another which “should first begin from home, clan, khel, village and then to wider community.”
K James Vizo in his presidential address elaborated on the organizational structure of the KUD and its history since its inception in 1999. He appealed all its members to extend its cooperation and play a proactive role in the activities of the union.
The general meeting was chaired by Nouneselhou Kire, Joint Secretary, invocation was offered by Pastor Thinuozekuolie Phewhuo, welcome address by Atho Dzuvichi Vice President. Reports were presented by General Secretary David Sekhose, Treasurer Neilhousalie Dzuvichu, Audit Report by Khrieketoulie Suohu, Finance Committee, Convener Guo-o Kerhiio, special song by Thejanuo Kire and vote of thanks by Sede Whuorie.
The house also resolved that the existing KUD team and KUD Finance Committee will continue their tenure till the Silver Jubilee Celebration scheduled by the end of 2024. The proposed land and building project will be spearheaded by KUD under the jurisdiction and of Kohima Village Council, it stated.
